The following photographs are excerpts from a collection of images. Film photography introduced a fleeting atmosphere in a more familiar physical realm, creating personal anecdotes supplemented with my grandmother’s internal dialogue. Using a typewriter, I score the paper with musical song lyrics that weave an incoherently long poem as haunting and incomprehensible as her voice. Songs that are overtly light and happy take on another layer of dark and nostalgic yearning. Juxtaposed with the pearly digital landscapes, the film pieces carry on the darker narrative that must exist to cope and see their light.
