Inevitable degredation.

We ultimately have no true power over our lives, but our grandiose illusions are enough to push us through existence.  As much as I attempt to preserve a person or memory, life will always take over.  Inducing rust allows me perceive a sense of control, while also understanding and accepting the inevitable.  Created in vinegar soaked environments, the metal mars the fragile silk’s surface, serving as a personal symbol of time’s ability to corrode our lives.
